ABOUT FMAAA

The Fresno-Madera Area Agency on Aging's (FMAAA's) mission is to provide leadership in addressing issues that relate to older Californians; to develop community based systems of care that provide services which support independence within California's interdependent society, and which protect the quality of life of older persons and persons with functional impairments; and to promote citizen involvement in the planning and delivery of service.

The role of the agency is to: Establish and coordinate an integrated comprehensive community based system of care for seniors
in PSA 14;
» Target services towards low-income, minority, rural, and functionally impaired individuals;
» Provide nutrition and supportive services to assure maximum independence and dignity at home for the elderly in order to prevent premature institutionalization;
» Educate the community on the issue of elder abuse and how it might be prevented;
» Provide opportunities for our seniors to demonstrate their commitment to improving their communities.
